International opportunities for adults in Kent

Kent Scouts are looking for multiple teams of enthusiastic adults to lead international adventures for Young People in Kent in 2019. We are combining selections for events this time and we would love for anyone who has an interest in any or all of these events to apply.

24th World Scout Jamboree 2019 

Kent Scouts are looking for a team of adults to prepare and lead a contingent to the 24th World Scout Jamboree in America in 2019. The Jamboree will take place on 22nd July – 2nd August 2019 at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.

Kent Scouts trip to Kandersteg 2019

Kent Scouts will be organising a County trip to Kandersteg in 2019 and we are looking for a team of adults to take on the challenge of delivering this exciting adventure. This is still in the early stages of planning, so it is an exciting opportunity to get involved in driving and delivering an amazing trip for Young People in Kent.

Explorer Belt 2019

Kent Scouts are also looking for individuals who would be interested in getting involved in Explorer Belt Expeditions to support teams of Young People planning their own adventure abroad during 2019.

Who can apply?

For the World Scout Jamboree, adults in Scouting who will be 18 by the 22nd of July 2019 can apply.

Role descriptions for the Unit Leader and Assistant Unit Leaders are available here.

For the other opportunities, we are looking for adults who will be 18 at the start of 2019 (as the exact dates of the events have not yet been set).

The selection process

Leaders will need to fill in an online application form which can include a 2 minute video or presentation to really allow you to shine. These applications will be short listed and then invited to a selection weekend which will take place between 22nd and 24th September. Successful applicants will be informed by the end of September.

Applicants who have been selected to attend the selection weekend will be informed by 17th September.
